Viner

Viner logo

Viner is an Italian bicycle marque founded in Tuscany, known for hand-built road racing frames, later mountain bikes, and professional-team sponsorship.

Company history

Viviano Nerozzi founded Viner in Pistoia in 1947, combining the opening letters of his first and family names to form VI-NER. The workshop began with sturdy utility bicycles, moved into racing machines during the 1950s, and expanded nationally and internationally. Viner sponsored the Furzi-FT professional team, supplied the Dutch squad that won the 1978 world team time trial, and provided the bicycle used by Marco Giovannetti in Italy's 1984 Olympic team-time-trial victory. The family business later added mountain bikes and supported teams including Scrigno, Navigare, and Mapei; the original company closed in 2013 and the marque continued under new ownership.
