Company history
Josef Hämmerle added bicycles to his Vorarlberg business in 1932; by 1952, he and his son Kurt had begun building custom bicycles under the Falke name. They established the SIMPLON brand in 1961, named after the Alpine pass, and built it around individually configured bikes. The family business expanded into racing and mountain bikes and continues to develop and assemble bikes in Hard, Austria, with an emphasis on premium materials and craftsmanship.
