Simcoe

Simcoe logo

Simcoe was a Toronto city-bicycle marque that reworked classic European roadster and step-through forms for North American streets, loads, weather, and rider fit.

Company history

Fourth Floor Distribution developed Simcoe from the retail experience of Toronto's Curbside Cycle and introduced the new house brand at Interbike in September 2012. Former Cervélo and FSA research-and-development leader Dave Anthony designed the frames after comparing European city-bike geometries, using a shorter front centre, longer rear centre, and size-specific wheel choices to produce nimble but stable urban bicycles. The Taiwan-built Roadster and Step Through models paired steel frames with fenders, racks, full chain protection, swept bars, and three- or eight-speed drivetrains. Toronto designer Markus Uran created the restrained industrial-colour identity and Simcoe wordmark.
