Roberts Cycles
Roberts Cycles is a British family frame-building marque known for made-to-measure road, touring, tandem, track, and pioneering mountain bicycles.
Company history
After building frames for Holdsworth, Claud Butler, and Freddie Grubb, Charlie Roberts established his own family workshop in South London in 1963. His sons Chas and Geoff joined the business, and Chas assumed management after Charlie's death in 1979. Roberts became known for bespoke steel construction, early British mountain bikes, low-profile time-trial machines, and frames ridden by world champions Tony Doyle and Tim Gould. The Gloucester Road workshop in Croydon closed in May 2015, while Geoff Roberts subsequently continued the family craft at lower volume.
