Brothers Willem and Joop Bustraan founded RIH Sport in Amsterdam's Jordaan district in 1921, building custom steel racing bicycles. The business passed to the next generation in 1948, then to master builder Wim van der Kaaij in 1973, who continued framebuilding in Amsterdam for decades. The current brand draws on this four-generation heritage while reworking its bicycles and production methods for modern riders.
