Rans Designs

A Kansas aircraft company with a notable legacy in recumbent cycling.
RANS is an American company historically known for recumbent and crank-forward bicycles; it no longer produces RANS-branded bicycles and now focuses on aircraft.
Company history
Randy Schlitter established RANS in Hays, Kansas, in 1974 to build sailtrikes. The company expanded into recumbent bicycles and became known for models such as the Rocket, Stratus, and Screamer. Bicycle operations were later transferred to Phoenix Bike WRX, which states that the agreement did not include the RANS name and ended its production of RANS-branded bicycles; the RANS business today focuses on aircraft.
