Principia
Danish-designed bikes rooted in pioneering aluminium framebuilding.
Principia is a Danish bicycle brand offering road, gravel, mountain, and children’s bikes, with a heritage in lightweight aluminium frame design.
Company history
Three young framebuilders in Aalborg started Principia in 1990, welding aluminium frames after they could not afford the high-performance bikes they admired. The brand grew from triathlon frames into road and mountain bikes, became a major Danish export, and joined bicycle company HF Christiansen in 2006. It is now part of that Danish group’s multi-brand bicycle portfolio.
