Company history
Gary and Sharon Snook began Performance Bicycle as a family-run catalog business in 1981. By the 1990s, Performance Inc. also sold bicycles under its own name; U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports from 1996 identify Performance M603, M704, and Gryphon mountain bikes sold through the company. Performance's current website is the online retail business, owned and operated by AMain Sports & Hobbies since 2019 from Chico, California.
