Mizutani
Mizutani Bicycle is a Japanese bicycle company that evolved from manufacturing and wholesaling its own bicycles into a specialist distributor, importer, and product planner.
Company history
Sadakichi Mizutani founded Mizutani Shoten in 1924 to manufacture and wholesale bicycles and parts. The post-war company was re-established in 1947 and developed its own Seraph bicycle line, began exporting sports bicycles to North America in 1971, and adopted the name Mizutani Bicycle Co., Ltd. in 1973. It ended general-purpose bicycle manufacturing in 1987 and shifted toward premium bicycles, components, and import distribution, later representing brands and suppliers including Brompton, Shimano, Continental, Ridley, and Niner in Japan.
