Mantis

Mantis Bicycle Co. was Richard Cunningham's influential American mountain-bike company, known for hand-built frames and experimental designs including the XCR, Flying V, and Pro Floater.
Company history
Richard Cunningham founded Mantis around 1980 and developed high-end mountain bikes whose elevated chainstays, mixed-material frames, and suspension concepts influenced the wider industry. Cunningham put the company up for sale in 1993, new owners acquired it in late 1994, and production continued from Ingenuity Sports in Altadena during the mid-1990s.
