Louison Bobet

Louison Bobet was a Mercier-produced French bicycle marque bearing the name of the three-time Tour de France winner, encompassing racing, road, utility, and motorized cycles.
Company history
After leaving Stella at the end of the 1954 season, reigning world champion and Tour de France winner Louison Bobet joined Mercier and negotiated a marque carrying his own name. Mercier manufactured the bicycles at Saint-Étienne and marketed them through a broader range that also included mopeds and light motorcycles. Bobet rode his own-branded machines while attached to Mercier, and Bobet–BP–Hutchinson teams competed from 1955 through 1960. The premium racing frames used Reynolds 531 tubing and French specialist fittings, while more accessible road and utility models broadened the line. Period advertising explicitly identified the machines as products of Mercier's Saint-Étienne factories. The original athlete-branded cycle line was used from 1955 to 1960, distinct from the later Louison Bobet apparel brand launched in 2015.
