Kinn

Kinn Bikes was a Portland family-transport specialist that built compact midtail cargo bicycles sized for ordinary storage and transit racks while carrying a child, adult passenger, or substantial load.
Company history
Product designer Alistair Williamson developed Kinn Bikes after searching for a bicycle long enough to carry a child securely but short enough for elevators and public-transport racks. Prototype work began in his basement in 2010 with Portland builders Tom LaBonty and Joseph Ahearne, and the company launched in 2012 with the locally fabricated Midtail Flyer. Renamed the Cascade Flyer, its steel frame placed the passenger or load over the rear axle, used a reversible front wheel to shorten parked length, and offered a rotating bamboo cargo deck, child rails, footrests, and derailleur or internally geared builds. Zen Bicycle Fabrication produced the frames with other Portland suppliers before the small marque ended operations by 2017.
