Company history
Howard Head founded the HEAD ski brand in Baltimore in 1950 after developing a metal ski. The company expanded into tennis equipment in the late 1960s and later into a wider range of sports products, including bicycles. In Japan, Takeda Sangyo is an authorized licensee handling products under the HEAD bicycle brand; the present corporate headquarters of HEAD Sport GmbH is in Kennelbach, Austria.
