Gladiator Cycle Company

Gladiator was a French manufacturer of bicycles, motorcycles, and motor cars, distinguished by its mounted-gladiator-and-globe emblem.
Company history
Alexandre Darracq and Paul Aucoq founded the Gladiator cycle works at Le Pré-Saint-Gervais in 1891. In 1896 Adolphe Clément and a syndicate led by Harvey du Cros acquired the company and combined it with Clément and Humber. Gladiator expanded from bicycles into tricycles, motorised bicycles, motorcycles, and cars; Vinot et Deguingand took over in 1909 and the Gladiator name disappeared from vehicle production in 1920.
