Gilmour

Gilmour Bicycles is Andy Gilmour's Tucson custom workshop, known for individually fitted steel and aluminium road, track, tandem, touring, and off-road frames with distinctive paintwork.
Company history
Scottish-born Andy Gilmour built his first three frames in Tucson in 1974 after learning welding and experimenting with repairs and modifications. He soon became a full-time builder, opened a Speedway Boulevard shop, and during the 1980s and early 1990s operated a retail store and rear workshop that produced as many as 300 frames annually. Gilmour primarily used lugged and fillet-brazed steel, added TIG-welded aluminium work in 1999, and also offered fitting, repair, repainting, tandems, and highly personalised geometry. His bikes supported Tucson racing teams and appeared in elite competition, including Andy Bishop's Motorola-era Giro d'Italia campaign. The long-running Thunderbird head badge reflects Gilmour's Southwestern home and replaced the European heraldic imagery common on racing bicycles.
