eZip

eZip logo

eZip was Currie Technologies' value-oriented American electric-mobility line, spanning affordable commuter and mountain bicycles, folding bikes, tricycles, and electric scooters.

Company history

Currie Technologies, founded in 1997 by electric-vehicle pioneer Malcolm Currie, introduced eZip as an accessible companion to its higher-specification IZIP range in 2005. The line used Currie's Electro-Drive systems and reached mass-market and specialist retailers with practical models including the Trailz, Skyline, Coastline, Mountain Trailz, Tri-Ride, and electric scooters. Larry Pizzi led the company's bicycle programme from 2005, broadening its drivetrains, batteries, and European supplier relationships. Dutch bicycle group Accell acquired Currie in 2012, retaining eZip alongside IZIP while the California operation supported engineering, service, and distribution.
