Critical Cycles

Critical Cycles was the bicycle-focused identity behind Retrospec's early affordable fixed-gear, single-speed, commuter, city, folding, cruiser, and youth ranges.
Company history
USC student Ely Khakshouri started the business in Southern California in 2009 with a small run of fixed-gear bicycles intended to make stylish daily transport attainable for students and young urban riders. The Critical Cycles catalogue grew beyond fixies and single-speeds into city, mixte, folding, beach-cruiser, and children's bicycles while retaining a direct, value-led approach. As the company broadened into outdoor equipment, its products and mission were unified under the Retrospec name. Retrospec remains based in Southern California, with its headquarters and distribution centre in Perris.
