Cyclist Gustavo Barbedo founded the company in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 as GB Cycling Wear after developing a locally made cycling short. The business adopted the Barbedo Sports name in 2003 and expanded into a Brazilian factory producing technical apparel for recreational and professional riders.
