Adams is the Canadian family-cycling brand that pioneered the Trail-A-Bike category, producing single- and two-rider tow-behind cycles, balance bikes, and accessories for introducing children to riding.

Company history

Adams began in Ontario in 1986 around the idea of making family cycling easier and more enjoyable. Adams Machine Works developed the original Trail-A-Bike, a one-wheeled child cycle that couples to an adult bicycle and turns the pair into a tandem-like combination. The name became closely associated with the entire trailing-cycle category, and the range expanded into geared and folding versions, two-child models, runners, and accessories. Norco Products acquired the Adams operation in 1997 and operated it from British Columbia; ownership later continued under LTP Sports Group. Canadian trademark records preserve the transfer and the brand's use for bicycle attachments.
